It's also not like a financing can quickly be done any time the sp spikes.

The PIPE investors are quite good at what they do, they would analyze what a good price (to them) would be and they wouldn't be foolish enough to buy at what might be a temporarily inflated price.

And it's a whole different discussion as to whether the PIPE guys "influence" the price ahead of a PIPE - that takes time and planning as well, and I believe it does happen.
