George Washington warned the nation in his farewell address that foreign involvement is not in the best interests of our nation. The displacement of manufacturing work to developing nations helps the economy of the developing nation. It also means that US $$$ are being used to fund the manufacturing which occurs in China.

I would rather see US $$$ funding Russian development than Chinese development. The Russians have more resources with stronger engineering than the Chinese. That is why the Russians have been flying space stations for two generations while the Chinese have launched 2 manned rockets in the last 2000 years.
