Since I donate blood regularly and have to answer all those questions, I've often wondered how many people give blood but don't answer truthfully? My wife was given a transfusion of whole blood three times. On the third transfusion she had a SEVERE, and I mean SEVERE reaction....nurses rushing about like chickens with their heads cut-off. After everything had calmed down I asked the nurse what happened, and she said your wife had an allergic reaction to the blood. I said really, and she said it happens frequently. How safe is the blood supply?
