What if the College Tonight rallied it's user base to buy the crap out of SMTX the same way they rallied their users to vote for them as best events social network site of 2006. They had to wait until the merger was publicly announced today before they could call in the buying troops. That would explain why SMTX didn't have the usual IHUB late day sell off, because it wasn't ihubbers buying it was new fresh money from College Tonights user base.
