Profunds index and sector trading

this area is not a stong one for me. i follow it all the time and while it used to be an effective tool to predict peaks,it pretty much stopped working about a year ago. it is still decent for picking bottoms. this will pass eventually but for now, i dont give it much respect as it has failed time and time again.

what i see happening is a lot of index puts are being bought to protect profits as a hedge. there are still massive amounts of calls that get bought most every day on stocks. doesnt usually work that one side is rewarded month after month, but thats the way its been working.
