Yeah, I have that mindset, as opposed to those who readily believe anything bad about the U.S. uttered by anyone around the world. Frankly, I have little understanding of the Left that appears to have always been tolerant of terrorism as long as it is committed against the U.S. or western civilization.

Why should anyone believe that the Gitmo detainess, if relesed, will not go out and kill Americans?

Perhaps, you'd prefer we adopt the Al Qaeda way, torture, and I mean really torture captives, and when we've exhausted our ability to get information, execute them and mutilate the remains. Presto, no need for Gitmo, no question about 'due process'.

I cannot understand the preoccupatin of the far left with the treatment of detainees, who are at least well fed and sheltered and alive, while ignoring the barbarous treatment, by our enemies, of not only our soldiers, but innocent civilians around the world.
