The most logical place is Chicago (at airport-Ohare location, not downtown Chicago). Only 4 hours at the most from the farthest location. If you want CA or Vegas, it is up to 7 hours from the east coast, and VT is up to 7 hours from the west coast. And the best reason for Ohare is I am only 30 minutes a way.
