I base my knowledge on what the company has given us. I have not called recently, but the last time i did, it was a case of what you see is what you get, in relation to available products. I was told that what was on the website was what i could get; "customization" was of course available, but no special "hidden" products. Thus, i backup my claim; the keys the CKYS advertises, with the granted exception of the Stealth (no longer available), are exclusively made my ST.
I also do not buy the idea of PR = Instant attack. What i do buy, is that ALOT of investors tried getting information, and that it was too much for some people. But that is not an attack; at least, it shouldn't be.
Finally - no bootable USB keys are not new, and i am not sure why you think otherwise. The business-world being unaware of something does not invalidate the technology - it just means it wasn't actually needed. Portable OS's have been around for years, first on CD, then USB. I will give that XP came later, but it HAS been around.
And no, flash drives are NOT faster than HDD based access. The fastest USB key can be found here: http://www.everythingusb.com/hardware/Storage/USB_Flash_Drives.htm At its max read and write, it is still slower than a 7200 PATA HDD, and much slower than a decent SATA drive. Now, taking a safe bet that the ST keys shipped to CKYS for any such purpose would be slower than the fastest drive, then you really have a drive that is NOT faster than a regular HDD.
Sure, USB drives are useful. Being able to mode files quickly and conveniently is nice. Heck, i could even see the use for having a key with some personal records. But mobile office work - nah. With things like blackberry, VPNs, and remote access, business have no need to fuss with bootable OS's or mobile profiles. It is a cute dream though.
According to the reporting of a "duped" company: As of 1/22/07, the Company had 200M (Float) & 700M (OS) Shares. However, according to TD, on 3/16, 382M shares were traded; on 3/20, 302M were moved; between 3/15-3/22, 898M total. I wonder who to believe.
