I saw something about it somewhere, but it was some time ago. I think it was on this board, but it was probably just speculation, anyway. It's still something of a mystery why this stock is priced where it is, given what we DO think we know. There must be something that we do NOT know, and that was one possible explanation. I do get the impression that the company has been doing things that are reflective of governmental priorities, e.g. improving the quality of the livestock herds, and the company may need special permission or licensing to enter into their ventures, and if it's something the government wants done, they may get special financing assistance, subject to restrictions and regulations. I surely don't know--I'm just feeling around for a clue.

The old currency exchange system, with the vouchers, was probably what that other poster and I were referring to. Regarding the interest income question, I think it's a good one. One would think that the company, with its operations in the US and Australia, would have access to currency exchange in such a way as to be able to get a decent return on their cash holdings. But again, they're governed by a communist system, and in my estimation, management's choices about what to do with "our" money are likely to be subject to severe restrictions. That's my best, albeit vague, take on the situation. I'm still optimistic, though, and I think management is doing a good job. I have what is, for me, quite a large position in the stock. I still think it could easily see new highs, and quite possibly double, within the next year or so. I bought more at .64.

It would seem plausible, though, that if the yuan appreciates against the dollar, it would take more dollars to buy ETLT's yuan-denominated assets, and thus their stock. The dollar's been weak, lately, against most other currencies, so it's reasonable to expect the PPS to go up, especially in dollar terms. But that's a whole "nother" issue.

A good bottom's hard to beat.
