It is well established that the Fonar Upright is the tool of choice in diagnosing problems in the spine while in a weight bearing mode. But this is not the onbly use to which MRI systems contribute to our health. As pointed out in the article you quote- 20% is the figure quoted.That leaves 80% to be address by systems other than the Fonarl. I also wonder about the feature of a surgeon making a referal for a scan to a facility in which he owns a financial interest. There seems to be growing concern about "over scanning" in such set ups.
The Fonar SU is a fine system but it is not a replacement for all other MRI's devices by far.
