Re: added some price numbers from newegg and got this list

Nice list, Alan. I imagine it's going to look quite different after Intel's price cuts later this month, however. Though I have to admit, it already doesn't look too bad for Intel, even after AMD's price drops. smile

By the way, I am just astounded by how good Intel's product line looks today. I don't remember them EVER having this good of a showing from top to bottom. Even in the Northwood days, they were selling Willamette based Celerons that were dogs. I think this moment in time is Intel's most competitive moment ever.

Did you look at the power consumption analysis I did in my other post...? Intel's even kicking AMD's ass in raw power consumption. I've never seen anything like this before. I would even go so far as to say that Intel is farther ahead of AMD today than AMD was ahead of Intel a year and a half ago. Look at the chart again, and compare the 5000+ (similar to AMD's FX-60, their fastest in H2 2005), to Intel's Pentium D 840. It's still a smaller margin than the QX6700 (not to mention the QX6800, which isn't shown), compared to the 6000+. Simply amazing.
