When I consider buying stock in a company, especially a start up, very risky one, management is a key component of the check list that helps me determine if I do. About 5 years ago, when I first discovered ERHC, I looked into Offer, the force behind it. The fact that a strong, powerful, connected individual who not only had a major financial stake in the organization but was a tenacious negotiator persuaded me to invest. I figured such a individual was essential if the company was to withstand the assault that Big Oil would make on it. Hindsight shows that was an accurate assesment. I remember telling others that in my opinion Offer was "The DicK Chaney" and ERHC the "start up Halliburton" of Nigeria. I cannot help but wonder where we would be if a malleable individual was at the helm.
