You are basing your opinion on the assumption that juries are made up of the sharpest knives in the drawer and hold no political or other bias. Maybe some just don't like government employees. Also, that the judge showed no bias in any regard and that both sides were equally represented.

That is usually not the case. According to you no person's opinion of the out come of the case is better than the opinion of the jury. That's stupid.
