BERLIN (Dow Jones)--The U.S. Department of Justice has indicated to Infineon Technologies AG's (IFX) lawyers that it has documents from competitors and witness statements proving anti-competitive behavior, the Capital magazine reports.

Infineon itself has found indications that some staff have exchanged information over future and past chip prices with the employees of rivals, the magazine says, citing an internal company analysis.

A spokesman for Infineon declined to comment on the report.

In June 2002, the Justice Department launched a probe into whether Micron (MU), Infineon, Samsung Electronics (005930.SE) and Hynix Semiconductor (000660.SE) conspired to manipulate prices of dynamic random access memory, or DRAM, chips.
