Hi fuagf, I tend to agree with you to an extent, but if you believe that America is a POS and just as fascist, and thoughtless of civil rights, and focused on world domination as militant Islam (not all Islam) then I am opening a can of worms here.
I wish that we were all pacifists, but, sadly, it is not in the nature of man to look upon his brother with gladness for what he has but rather with envy. And it is not smart to try and negotiate peace with the teeth of a tiger.
The American soldier is one of a kind! There has never been one like him. The Roman soldier is a distant second and cannot hold a candle to the combination of fearlessness, loyalty, and compassion. We would not be having this conversation if not for him, his father, and his grandfather.

This nation is still a baby. My wife was born in Vera Cruz, Mexico and she reminds me of our infant status sometimes.


Anyway, I resectfully disagree with our President (try that in an Islamic country or even Mexico as my wife will agree and see what happens to you) in not pulling our troops out. American military is great at war but terrible at policing and occupation. Russia could not undo the Mujahadeen in 10 yrs and we did it in 30 days.
My two cents: if we are attacked or threatened again as in 9/11, show up with combat forces, primarily air, for 10 days to 2 weeks and then leave until rewarranted. Maybe leave some paramilitary in the country to disrupt enemy ops (who wants to deal with American Special Forces -apparently not Osama) but no more sustained ground troops, imho.

Everyone has an IMO in this country.
