Guy42i- Your numbers are way off. You cite that the US sold a total of $3.5 Million in lumber to the entire ME. And yet,the US Census Bureau, Foreign Trade Division reports that the US sold in excess of $14 Million worth of logs and lumber (reporting category 13100) to Saudi Arabia alone in 2006. This excludes other category codes for other forest and manufactured wood products, and ignores all of the other countries in the Middle East.
From this figure alone, it demonstrates that your research is in some way flawed.
