Did anyone really seriously doubt they would close the convertible??
I posted this on the IV board and I wonder if someone here has any thoughts about it
I have never seen a convertible announced and priced by a small biotech not close. Perhaps there are some out there but I have never come across any so I would have to assume it is a very rare occurrence. I was never in agreement with those that said the lawsuit could derail the convertible offering because I am sure that everything claimed in these lawsuits was revealed to ML before the pricing...
The convertible offering is a good thing because it allows DNDN to survive through the interim results without needing to go to the street for more debilitating financing. On the other hand, the convertible is a bad thing because it signals to me that there is no partnership on the horizon anytime soon and because it further dilutes the shares once these shares are converted (although at $10.28 I think this is not too bad at this point in time)...
While I think the closing of the convertible offering is a good thing and ML being on our side is also a good thing, I still think that approval will not occur prior to the 9902b interim results and therefore we still have to wait till 2009 before any meaningful upside. In the meanwhile, I still feel that the market will take us down to the $5 area before we spring back to double digits...
