There’s a **huge** difference between licensing a patent portfolio internally developed over 20 years consisting of 1,000 of patents (many foundational) for ~ 4.5% and demanding a kings ransom (destroying the Q’s business model overwhelmingly supported by the industry) for one recently purchased patent (extraneous/ obscure/ questionable).

Yes, they have a wider portfolio, but Qualcomm has ALWAYS stated that violating one claim of one patent triggers a royalty.

It doesnt make a bit of difference if you developed the patents or if you acquired them. I was embarassed for PJ when he emphasized the word "bought" during the call yesterday. The first thing he did as CEO was buy Flarion. He also has bought Airgo's MIMO IPR and RFMD's Bluetooth assets. Did he ever tell us that this IPR wasnt going to be enforced because it was bought? Do any of the 10k's warn us about this?

It isnt a surprise, when the shoe is on the other foot all of the previous talk about the importance of intellectual property protection goes out the window (both by Q and its shareholders).
