Whom would you be pissed-off at Brcm or Qual or both?
Qualcomm. If I am Samsung or LG, I expect Qualcomm to deliver chips that are free of IPR problems. I dont want to have to spend any time on redesigns/retesting or the various legal issues. This is Q's problem and I would expect them to solve it.
JMO, but I find it pretty funny how many posts I have read about operators and vendors being angry at Broadcom because they are filing suit. I never read any of these same sentiments when Qualcomm is trying to take Nokia handsets off of the GSM market.
