black-box warnings will soon be added to Avandia, Actos, and perhaps other diabetes meds

I doubt that in the end there will be a black box for Actos - since they have a randomized trial in cardiac endpoints that was successful for showing that Actos reduced cardiac events. (I know that in some of the Avandia discussions in the Press there has been talk of Actos being similar to Avandia - but unless I missed something quite large in the Actos trial this seems very unlikely.)
