Are you sure. The average per day for DEC 2003 at 14 M auctions per day look like 52 W records.

Just this weekend on DEC 27 & 28 2003, auctions reached 16 M an amazing record volume. Maybe a lot of people have the flu and are staying home and not going out to shop or these are real trends that can continue. In comparison, for the 2 day period on the weekend after Christmas 2002 auctions were only 11 M.

To be honest with you, I just browsed ebay this weekend for the first time in over a year to check on Lionel train prices after putting train set up for Christmas. I am not looking to buy or sell but ebay is pretty much only marketplace for collectables of any sort.
I am amazed at the level of art work that is going up for sale. It seems for example that New Hampshire and Vermont art dealers have found the internet and no on is driving to these quaint towns in incliment weather anymore to shop.
