I think the concern for pain may be overblown - but heck what do I konw- I totally missed the CR letter- so take my observation with a grain of salt.

If you care to follow the asco presentation- the first presentation under the abstract. The anti-DNDN camp may be relieved to find that pain was a significant predictor of survival as in the pivotal study in tax 237.

However, perspicacious readers would notice that it took significant pain defined as on an analog scale of 10 or more, to be a predictor, as opposed to minimal pain (defined as an analog score of 3 or less), which is what 9902b has.

So I wouldn't be surprised what Gold said was true, espcially given bony mets is in the model and would correlate with pain to some extent.
