Dr. Meade did an excellent job of explaining this at the recent annual meeting. The antibodies attach to the target cell. They do not destroy the cell but act as markers which attract "natural killer" cells. The "killers" attach to the glycolised end of the antibody and destroy the tageted cell. Alterations in glycolisation do not effect the affinity of the antibody for the target cells, they effect the affinity of the "killer cells" to the attached antibody marker.
