OMR sued by Spain over shipwreck. There is something of Paramount importance that I left out of previous posts. The permit that DPBM has control over in Key West. Spain has given up any claim to any Spanish wreck that is located in the permit area. This permit is over 25 years old and at the time of application, Spain
gave up all claims to any wreck that may be discovered in the permit area. Therefore DPBM is legally in control of any Spanish wreck in their permit area. The same is true of the permit that Mel Fisher obtained on the Atocha and 1715 wrecks on the East Coast of Florida. I apologize for not mentioning it earlier. I had assumed that everyone was aware of that fact. That will teach me to assume.
