You're right. Saying Iraq is like Vietnam is stupid and having made the stupid comparison you continue your personal attacks. I think you will find many that agree with me when I say that the diarrhea here belongs to you. Now please make that your final personal attack!

But you made the statement and still you refuse to say why it’s stupid. I know you know if you try to defend it I will eviscerate you and I can assure you I will not be merciful. So maybe you will need assistance from all those many who can agree with you and can come to your aid. Maybe the folks that inhabit the fairly tale land of the NOLIB board for instance.

But in the meantime maybe you can ponder the following:

When we decided to escalate Vietnam from 50K troops to 100K to eventually over 500K what did this cause in neighboring countries and was it worth over two million unnecessary deaths of Cambodians (OK I threw you a big hint).

Did we have the support in Vietnam of the people?

Was Vietnam a Civil War?

Why did the Soviet Union, China, Poland, East Germany, and all the other Communist countries want us bogged down there for years? Why did we also tolerate them supplying weapons for the North?

What did those 58K+ US Soldiers die for when Johnson knew the war was unwinnable even before the escalation?

What was the main cause celeb that Johnson used to escalate in Vietnam?

Then once you seriously think about those issues we can then talk about Iraq and how it’s not just one civil war but many civil wars and how the carnage will expand beyond the borders of Iraq the longer we stay. We can then talk about who is supplying who with weapons and who supports us really being there.
