I would agree with Chipguy on this. I think given the lead time required for the intro of a chip, in particular building the ecosystem, Intel is highly unlikely to put forth a x86-64 (either their own flavor or AMD64) in 2004 or 2005.

IMO, AMD would have to take a lot of market share and have the fab capacity for further expansion before Intel responded with an x86-64.
