Why would ANY company make a PRE-announcement of a buyout at .55 a share?
One possibility to consider: The PPS was falling and somebody (maybe many) needed to dump shares at a higher price to get out. So they just release a PR with a buyout possibility, even though they fully intend to reject it.
How does anybody know if this offer is really genuine?
If/When the PR finally comes out saying the offer has been rejected, this thing will drop faster than anybody can get out.
If something seems too good to be true, it usually is.
Sorry to be so negative, but this situation makes no sense to me. But I must admit I haven't done any extensive DD on this company.
Why isn't this already trading in the .50's with this recent PR ?
