By 1981, 29 year old Michael John Rood of "A Rood Awakening" had been in The Way International cult for nine years. 1 Today, at age 51 his current presentation of religious beliefs seem to be a reflection of The Way International theology and indoctrination practices plus. It would not be a surprise that he does employ that form of teaching because Michael Rood was in leadership as, at the very least, Limb Coordinator of The Way cult in Washington D.C. 2

Having joined The Way International in 1972 at the age of 20 and claiming to be a former Marine marksman in 1981, Michael Rood was introduced to a Way Twig meeting as "The Rev. Mr. Michael Rood," according to the October 13, 1981, Washington Post article called, Giving Thanks for Array of Blessings, ..."

The fact that Michael Rood is a Gentile who claims to be Jewish is all the more interesting when one reviews the books he would have studied while in The Way International, which was also a para military movement whose actions included the stockpiling of weapons, in anticipation of Armageddon. Their projected dates for that event was also a dismal failure. TWI promoted the book, "The Myth of the Six Million", which teaches 6 million Jews were not killed by Germans. More TWI literature spoke of the Nazi Holocaust as a hoax perpetrated by Jews and Communists.

Michael Rood has never publicly renounced his TWI membership or beliefs and at the 2005 National Religious Broadcasters Convention, Judith, his wife, stated he was only in TWI when he was 17. That of course is blatantly false.

However, we see in his Mystery of Iniquity, statements which promote Lost Tribes theology, British Israelism (Ephraim and Manasseh) and other statements which teachings suggest that Gentiles, such as himself, can lay claim to actually being Jewish, thereby replacing the physical Jews. His condescending statement while doing an interview in Jerusalem, asking Jews on the street in Jerusalem what the name Jesus meant in Hebrew, and of course, when getting 'nothing' for a response, stated, "Out of the mouth of babes." He has also stated that it was the Jewish Levite priesthood who are responsible for creating nuclear warheads, with of course, no documentation
