Merger talk

Dew, in fact it's not a scoop. It has been discussed several times this year by the 2 CEOs of Sanofi and Aventis, in view of the end of the shareholder pact between L'oreal and Total each owning a large part of Sanofi.
L'oreal said recently that they are not in a hurry for Sanofi represents a big part of their actual profits (same kind of story than Nestle/Alcon...).
The merging possibility between Sanofi and Aventis has several advantages (The article say it all) but they want to minimize social costs, which has always been a sensitive question in France.
I went through several French articles this morning and I confirm there is no inside story.
