So, I'm in Alberta and I got some interesting information. Alberta is pulling resources from anywhere they can. Workers from as far as China are working in the Alberta boom.
I got my information from locals here in Alberta.
The FACT that SLJB is probing into Alberta is materially relevant. I'm happy for SLJB's interest in this hot sector and my hopes and prayers go to all involved. Alberta needs assistance with it's growth and fellow countrymen should be a first source.
Housing values in Alberta have surged over the past ten years by a factor of at least 2. That is, a house purchased for $200K five years ago is now selling for $450K. Of course, situations vary but the situation is apparent: Housing costs in Alberta have raised a lot.
The bottom line after all of this is that realestate will continue to be a hot sector for at least the next 20-50 years. All of this is IMO and I would like to propose that after the 20-50 years there will be a significant decline as populations decline.
So... yeah, Alberta + SLJB = WIN in the near term (that is within the next 5 years.)
Oh, and you may wonder or question as to the reason for rising housing costs... It's OIL... Remember the Edmonton Oilers??? yeah... Alberta = Edmonton... Anyways... Oil resources that were never before tapped into are now being tapped into here in Canada. Just more pieces of the puzzle folks!
