re: the fake certificate criminal industry. the brokerages want us to believe that they only bought us real shares but somehow, fake certifiactes were introduced and became part of the inventory they bought from---Right (as well as what many believe, the naked shorted shares)... so if fake certificates can so easily be introduced and there are no filters or safeguards in place to stop such activities, wont that be an incentive to criminal minds to do the same thing with other stocks? thats why i call it the fake certificate criminal industry. dont you think people with the intent on finding ways to steal wont look at happened here and spawn a whole new criminally based industry, just like there is with counterfiet money. just because its not organized, doesnt mean people with criminal intentions wont get ideas especially now thats its been shown how easy it is to introduce fake certificates into the system. the naked shorting issue is different but i think many on this board believe, both situations caused us to be where we are today... does that make sense...
