Well, its the most likely scenario...

those who think there is going to be some huge short squeeze or forced buy in are dreaming, although I wouldn't rule out it completely. But common sense tells me the simplest solution is for us to go after our brokers, and we won't get what our shares are currently worth but will most likely get offered our money back. That is for those who decide to go after them and spend the money.
