You mean this wasn't about Saddam's WMD's or his abusing his people? Hmmmm I didn't think so. It was about opening new markets for US companies.

The only thing we are closer to is an increasing moral collapse within the US being witnessed by the rest of the world which secretly harbors ill will for the US even if they officially seem to support it. I'll bet that they NEVER bring enough security to the region to accomplish anything except pouring newly printed fiat currency down the drain and devaluing the dollar further. Have you noticed that America is an empire in decline now? Nothing is going to reverse this in the long run because there are fundamental flaws in American type "capitalist democracy".
