Paul, Re: If it is set up the way it looks, it's not exactly a fair comparison AMD with IGP video against Intel with discrete video cards.

Actually, the faster of the two Pentium M laptops had Intel 855GM integrated graphics, and the Acer TravelMate 290LMi that used it produced higher Winstone scores for Business and Content Creation than the IBM ThinkPad R40 that used an ATI Mobility Radeon 7500. I did not post the 3DMark scores, as they are irrelevant. DX7 compatible video accelerators cannot run the majority of tests in the 2003 test suite, which is bound to produce an unrealistically low score. The Winstone scores, however, are more than "fair" for comparison purposes.

By the way, it took me an hour or so to search for those benchmarks, and I'm not about to do it again to produce a link. The table gives all the relevant information, anyway. Though you're free to use your Internet search skills yourself if that's not good enough.

Re: And ATI's IGP320 memory performance stinks, fortunately with A64, there'll be more options for chipsets.

Well, I guess that means that Mobile Athlon XP-M performance is bound to stink. How does that change the fact that a Centrino laptop will outperform one made out of Mobile Athlon XP-M? Moreover, how does that look to AMD when a 1.3GHz Intel processor outperforms their "2400+"?
