The opening of a 2nd restaurant is great news but for it to take 8 or more months to do it does not make sense. Having been in the restaurant business with 3 restaurants, it took me 7 months to open the 1st but only 3 months to open the 2nd and 3rd. I understand the problems and delays involved in opening restaurant #1, like finding everything you need, signs, equipment, decor, etc. but once the basics are in place it should not take that long to open additional locations.
Another factor to consider is the rent. I sure hope he negotiated no or low rent until he gets open.
