Dew, thank you for the reminder about that contraindication for Avastin. I recalled that there was one, but did not recall that it was in regard to Squamous. And thus we seem to see still again that Squamous behaves as a 'different beast' in still another fashion--that is, in regard to response to Avastin...just a coincidence?
Do you happen to recall whether the Merck KgA trial is sufficiently powered to look for a meaningful response difference in the Squamous subset? (I realize that the answer here also depends upon the degree of responsiveness, if any, to Erbitux in this subset.) I would HOPE that Merck took this all into consideration when setting the study's recruitment goal, but I just don't recall how large the trial may be.
