The Division maintains
an outpatient specialty clinic, the Hemophilia
and Thrombosis Clinical Center. Patients are
seen weekly with fellows by Drs. Furie, Roth,
Bauer and Flaumenhaft. This clinic represents
a referral center for patients with bleeding or
thrombotic disorders, approximately 50 percent
of whom are referred from physicians outside of
Massachusetts. Many of these patients elect to
have surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical
Center under the indirect care of faculty in this
Division. Dr. Roth participates part-time, having
moved to a senior position at Wyeth. Dr. Robert
Flaumenhaft has joined this practice in 2006. Dr.
Bauer is Director of Thrombosis Clinical Research.
A number of clinical trials are closely integrated
into this clinical program.
