1) Number of Kimberlite Pipes in the World?

7% ? Derived by Dan (I have seen 4%, I have seen 1 out 20 for 5%, but 7% works with the other numbers. So, either one or more of the other numbers are wrong or the 7% is correct!)

4) Percent Kimberlite Pipe is Mineable

That gives us 63 Diamondiferous Kimberlite Pipes that are Mineable. To check this number I used the 4 pipes of the Diavik Diamond Mine and the 8 pipes of the Ekati Diamond Mine for 12 Pipes being Mined in Canada. Canada is producing 12% of global diamond output. So, that translates to 100 Mineable Diamondiferous Kimberlite pipes in the world. I know also that there is a over 40 Diamond Mines in the World with between 1 and 8 pipes each, granted some of them are alluvial diamond mines, an educated guess would be an average of 2.5, that would translate to 100 Mineable Diamondiferous Kimberlite pipes in the world, also. So, that makes me feel pretty comfortable with the numbers above, and if anything they are low!
