I asked for a few details on a Fred McMurray job. Here is the schedule:
Schedule is: Fly in on Mon- work to Thur noon - Fly out. Off for 4 days Fly in on Tue - work to Fri - Fly out. Off for 2 days. They are calling it: 4/2 4/4 rotation. Basically you are working 40 hrs per week, no OT, but part of your 40 hrs is travel time.
We are booking flights on WestJet/AirCanada/leaving Edm at 7:05am arriving at 8:00am to Fort Mac. Catch a bus or shuttle to the site: 40 minute ride. Start to get things ready - work day starts on Mon at 10:00am on site. When leaving on Thurs - things tidy up by lunch time - catch the shuttle back to airport and fly out late afternoon.
I wonder how they are getting anything done at 40 hours a week? I would assume the travel days are basically dog fucking days. Why not work your bag off while you are in? Do 12's as a minimum?
