Dan, Re: Sort of like your sell call this spring just before AMD almost tripled (yeah, it wobbled up and down a bit before taking off - you blew that call and you know it).

I missed the opportunity from $10.00 to $13.15 ($10.65 to $13.15 if you count the commission I got from the calls themselves). Your claim that the stock almost tripled during this time is an outright lie, and you know it. I know it because I reminded you of this several days ago, and you don't have that bad of a memory.

This is just like old times, Dan. You lie, and then people catch you in lies.

Re: Now, why don't you explain to us what kind of twisted motivation leads someone own the stock and then bash it 7x24?

That's just it, Dan. Only a blind cheerleader would consider me a basher of the stock. My goal is to search for realistic expectations, and when people spout off FUD about AMD's competitors (usually Intel, and very often by you), then I will respond to set the record straight. Likewise, when people prophecize unrealistic "to the moon" scenarios, then I will also respond to the contrary. However, I'm sure you can find plenty of posts from me that praise AMD when they do something right. If you can't, then you're obviously not looking. Then again, we have already established you as intellectually dishonest time and time again....

Re: Or do you hold a handful of AMD shares because it gives you some sort of kinky self-justification for bashing it while you hold 10 times or 20 times as much of its competitor, Intel

I own more than a handfull of AMD shares, though it is not nearly as much as my Intel shares.

And what's wrong with that? Have you ever heard of a diversified portfolio? I put a proportional amount of money in the stocks based on risk and reward. Right now, I think AMD is headed up, as they approach a good time of year for stock trading in semis, and also because they will probably have their first quarter of profitability in 9 or so quarters. Intel is a safer bet long term, IMO, so that's why I keep more money there. I know that the stock generally travels up and to the right over the long term. Some might disagree, but that's a topic for a different discussion.
