It was just a few weeks ago that I was listening to two talking heads discussing whether it would be AMD or NVDA being the first to hit over $200/share. In the weeks since NVDA had huge top and bottom line beats in the quarterly report and forecast $5 billion more than the analysts were guiding for next quarter. This created an 8% drop from the high just prior to the 10Q. NVDA currently sits at about $214/share and AMD just closed at over $500/share.
I own both so I’m very happy that the market thinks AMD should be valued at over double what the greatest company on this Earth should be. In my 40 years of involvement in the market I continue to learn that results and reasoning mean nothing.
