So, the Rump's enthusiasm for junk food is outta a phobia, fear or paranoia - ironic if he's confident in the strategy or should I say a paradox.
This is interesting on my travels and sorta related;
Confidence doesn't sound the same in every country.
But we judge it like it does.
And that's where things start to go wrong.
Because what sounds confident in one culture can sound uncertain, abrupt, or even rude in another.
In Japan, indirectness signals respect. In the Netherlands, directness signals clarity. In the UK, understatement signals competence. In the US, enthusiasm signals confidence. In Spain, connection comes before the point. In Germany, the point comes first. In France, how you say it matters as much as what you say. In Scandinavia, saying less often says more.
