Sometimes the iHub post being viewed is very long.
For example, it contains a Cut & Paste of an article from nytimes.com of a thousand words or more.
If one only wanted to locate and read specific information flagged with the word "fees" or phrase "fees in 2002" a search feature on iHub would make it easy & quick.
To demo this I will use #msg-1773804 as it contains the text from nytimes.com containing multiple "fees".
The page starts with: Logout Home MailBox Boards Favorites Hot! Tools Other Zeev's Turnips Patch-No Politics (ZEEV)
At this point one is only able to search using them eyeballs.
I'am using the Opera browser to explain this, but hopefully the Netscape and Microsoft browsers are similiar in function.
Not part of the iHub page being viewed and scroll'able is the Toolbar at the upper most position on your screen.
File Edit View Navigation Lists Mail News Preferences etc
Step 1 - click into Edit Step 2 - the Edit drop-down menu is displayed Step 3 - select Find Step 4 - a popup search box will appear Step 5 - use it to find a word or phrase in iHub post viewing
Note: If the Find item in the Edit drop-down menu is grayed-out, then this page cannot be search. Also: I have not tried this when displayed on my monitor screen are the many posts being fully displayed using iHub's Read Next 10-50-100. Sure would be nice if it worked. Extra: When the Find popup search box appears for my use, its position is in the middle of the screen over the text of the iHub post being read. One can either click the mouse cursor on this popup's top bar and move it off the iHub post, or click the little box with the - character and use the Move feature. This allows one to view the iHub post better. If you move this popup far to the right of your screen such that most all of it goes off you screen, just so you can click your mouse inside it allows you to move your mouse focus between the iHub post and this popup such that when the focus is on the popup an Enter will execute the Find function just as if you clicked the Find button inside the popup. This way you can move the focus of your mouse back and forth such that you can Cut & Paste a word or phrase from the iHub post and deposit it into the popup "Find What" field. For myself I find that once a search word or phrase is deposited in that field, that by pressing the Enter key over and over I can observe where in the iHub post this word or phrase is located since the iHub post will automatically scroll and highlight the hit(s).
Once again, you can change the word or phrase inside the field location in the Find popup simply by clicking you mouse inside the field so as to change where your mouse has it's focus, thus allowing a Cut & Paste from text contained in the iHub post to be moved there.
(Extra) Using Next 10-50-100 Finding yourself a zillion pages down, and you want to scroll to the top. --- If you wish to return to that top you can use: press and hold for repeats - Page Up or press and release - Home or press and hold Ctrl, then press Home, then release both --- - end -
