The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) has filed a proposal with the Postal Regulatory Commission to increase the cost of a first-class stamp by 4 cents, raising it from 78 cents to 82 cents. This change, if approved, will take effect on July 12, 2026 and represents an overall 4.8% increase in mailing service prices. The additional-ounce price for single-piece letters will remain at 29 cents, while other products such as domestic and international postcards and letters will also see modest increases.
