The Gerald Ford is out of commission for at least 14 months, from a laundry fire, bullshit. My Nephew served on an aircraft carrier back in the 1980s. His deployment was long, went to Japan,  they dealth with many issues at sea, but the purpose was to be an American military presence ready to go anywhere at anytime.
