Hate to say it, but it's looking like this Trump Administration will not be releasing and relisting Fannie and Freddie.
Watched a YouTube video last night the topic of which was President Trump's cognitive decline, the creator of which made a compelling case that President Trump is suffering from dementia ( I know, consider the source ). Regardless, for whatever reason the GSE's are not the shiny object they once were, just a crying shame as there was so much money to have been made here for the Trump Family.
This most recent run of catastrophic price declines no longer looks like garden variety price manipulation, more like large investors unloading their positions.
So where does this leave us? Back to Court. My thoughts are that the one legal avenue which ( to the extent that I'm aware ) has not been attempted is to sue the Federal Government for Civil Rights violations regarding the fraudulent seizure and Conservatorship of Fannie and Freddie. A different legal pretense might afford shareholders some legal strategies and leverage which have otherwise been unavailable.
All that being said: I'm not selling, bought more FNMA both yesterday and today. Going forward waiting for at least another 50% price drop before I would even consider buying more.
