Oh, I learned to body surf when I was a little kid. Before that, I just liked to float in the water, face down. My parents got used to it, but other bathers didn't always. Apparently one afternoon I was doing it and a man thought I was drowning, and plucked me up. I was later told I started screaming, which isn't surprising.
