What Shell said was that it can be years before oil is found in a virgin basin, not that it would be years before they tried again in the EEZ. And it would appear that they are pressing ahead, as planned, with shooting seismic in Block 4 this year (see link, below).

So things are not that dire for the EEZ (yet). Unfortunately, due to continued non-communication from management, the same cannot necessarily be said for ERHC.
