That (patent argument) is surely an argument for a better buyout price; the BP legal guys would have a pretty good handle on the likelihood of that happening or not. I've no idea if the UNCY execs have an advisory team with equivalent chops. My gut feeling is that they are babes in the woods and can easily make the wrong move, be it overplaying their hand or underselling the assets. Lots of uncertainties left to play out here, good and bad, IMHO.
