Repost - EMP and nuclear power --

Nuclear powerplants require water pumps to cool the reactor, and without power these pumps stop working. So very quickly the nuclear powerplant goes critical and explodes. The US has ~100 nuclear plants (and growing), so imagine 100 simultaneous Fukashimas. The entire continent would be rendered uninhabitable for centuries, as would Europe, and most of the northern hemisphere.

If by some miracle the water pumps continued to work long enough to shut down the reactors, that would at least prevent the 100 Fukashima type explosions. So if the US leadership refuses to harden the US power grid against EMP, they should at least harden the 100 plus commercial nuclear powerplants so they can be shut down after an EMP event.

For the public, one strategy would be to move into the Southern hemisphere to benefit from the Coriolis Effect, and to a country that doesn't have nuclear powerplants. New Zealand doesn't have nuclear power, nor does Australia, although Australia is considering it. So once again, New Zealand stands out as a 'go to' destination. Many of the world's 'who's who' and celebrities have places in New Zealand, and some also have underground survival bunkers there -

>>> Why Billionaires Are Quietly Building Bunkers in New Zealand (and What They Know That You Don’t)

(excerpt)

Over the past decade, a quiet migration has taken place. Not of average people — but of the ultra-rich. Tech founders, hedge fund kings, and mysterious crypto millionaires have begun buying up land in rural New Zealand, often in cash and without public records.

Their properties aren’t just remote mansions.

They’re survival bunkers. Reinforced, self-sustaining, airtight. Outfitted with private airstrips, escape tunnels, solar farms, weapon caches, and enough supplies to last for years. These aren’t homes. They’re ark ships for a sinking world.

Who’s Hiding Underground?

Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal, acquired 477 acres on New Zealand’s South Island and was granted citizenship — despite never having lived there.

Other Silicon Valley giants — whose names are shielded by shell companies — have reportedly purchased similar land near Lake Wanaka and Otago.

One American billionaire was quoted saying:

“If the grid goes down or the dollar crashes, I want to be nowhere near civilization.”You won’t find these retreats listed on real estate websites...
